Jean Beale – Appreciation

JEAN BEALE

19th JUNE 1938 – 29th JULY 2021

Happily married in 1957 – Sixty Four years together

I have been asked by a devastated Ron to give an appreciation of his beloved wife, whose fight against cancer finally and suddenly took her while in hospital. His large family, children Nathan and Emma, grandchildren, relatives, ‘Sydenham’ and others, gathered ‘up the road’ in the lovely Holy Trinity Charing Heath church. We were welcomed by the reverend Sandra Marsh, with eulogies which were given by his young grandson Darryl, who spoke very confidently, Charlie Beale – ‘My Mrs Wonderful’ and a personal tribute by Andrea. After the service we all congregated at the conveniently placed Red Lion at Charing Heath for refreshments. At Ron’s request donations were given to Cancer Research U.K. They are getting on top of it but it still takes too many lives.

Jean joined the ‘Sydenham’ before their marriage, to enjoy cycling and taking part in reliability trials but did not wish to compete. She loved to go to France where the club took part in ‘gentlemen’s’ events and enjoy the banter and comradeship of all the other bike riders. Happy memories! She was a lovely lass and will be sorely missed, in particular yours truly.
