Driving down onto Romney Marsh it looked like the impossible might happen. There seemed to be a lack of wind and the sun was shining. Of course once you were out on the course you discovered the wind was of course still present and it seemed to change direction during the event. 6 members of the club took part. President Bob Loader was first off and finished with a 2.42.47, which was quicker than last year. 2nd was Paul Delicata who finished with a 2.21.05, The star ride of the day was Richard Birtwhistle who finished in 2.01.43. Robert Royston did a 2.05.41. Dave Twin got a front puncture at 45 miles and rode straight across the Brenzett roundabout back to the hall. Steve Thurgood finished with a 2.09.00 which he was well pleased with considering he only rode one 10 last year and did this was only his second event of this year following the 10 the other evening. Kevin Tye of Velorefined Aerosmiths won in 1.51.45.
